Framing the Tiny House!

Greg has played so much music this month!
Hey there..Hi there! How is everyone?!  We have been so busy!! July is always such a busy month for us.  Greg & his band always play a lot of parties/gigs on and around the 4th of July..it's my birthday month..and then Mountainfest brought lots of shows for Greg & the band, as well!

Listening to Steve Winwood & Steely Dan for my birthday!

NEVERTHELESS! There has been progress on the tiny house!

Greg & his bass player, Lynn King working on wall framing

Greg's friend and bandmate, Lynn King, has been such a huge help to us with our build. His expertise and willingness to help has been such a blessing!

The one & only - Bill Harding

Bill Harding has also been on-site to help with the build.  Bill is Greg's longtime friend and bandmate. It is so cool to see the guys being able to bond further over our tiny adventure!

Ernie Short

Greg's nephew, E3, has also been helping out with the build.  Hearts are warmed that these two get to spend some quality time together. :)

...I'm sure there have been shenanigans along the way out of these two!

Greg & Dad

Another special person who has helped Greg consistently with this build is my Dad! :)  He and Greg have been able to spend some serious quality time together over some hard core male bonding!  I am amazed more and more at what a great team these two make.  Two peas in a pod!

Can't thank my Dad enough for the support he has given us...and my Mom too!  She came out one day to help get our little Avion camper cleaned up!  We are loving having Mom & Dad here for the summer!

So PROGRESS...yes! Progress!  Here is the tiny house with all of the framing done!  It's really starting to look like a house now.  You'll notice that the floor is not finished--we will be using foam insulation which will happen later in the build.   The shot below is from what will be our bedroom in the tiny house. :)

I regret that I haven't been out to help as much as I would like.  My day job is getting in the way!  Imagine that.

When Greg texted these pictures to me yesterday, I cried.  I told him how amazing everyone has been in with what they have accomplished.  He replied, "It's happening honey." :)

Tears. Again. Love it!

These shots were taken today.  The roof is now taking shape...shed style.  We will have a tin roof.  Can I get a, "Tin Roof! Rusted."??

And last, but certainly not least--we have a porta-john now for those helping with the build! Remember--we are going to be off-grid, so there are no utilities down Short Holler!

We will be installing a Nature's Head composting toilet in the tiny house.  Look them up.  Pretty cool technology. :)

We sure hope you are enjoying this little adventure with us.  If you are local to our area and haven't been out to Short Holler yet, we welcome you!  Bring your work gloves.  We'll feed and imbibe ya!

Peace & Love
-Greg & Carla
