Welcome to "Short Holler!"
On August 27, 2015, we purchased some beautiful property here in West Virginia. It is undeveloped, wooded land with a spring-fed creek. What do we plan to DO with this land, you ask? Well, it has been our dream since we married to have a little cabin in the woods....we plan to build a tiny house! Heard of them?
Greg was VERY anxious to get started, and had a dozer out to the property within the first week! I never thought we could get so excited about a ROAD. :)
It is the most beautiful road we've EVER seen!
Greg and the dozer dude got the road cut in one day! They also cleared a spot for our vintage 1968 Avion camper, which Greg pulled onto the property that afternoon. We love this camper, and we love that we FINALLY have it sitting on our DREAM land! This will be our getaway until the tiny house is finished!
Today, on this Labor Day, we spent the day with our daughter, Meagan, and son-in-law, Lewis, cleaning up some brush and clearing some rock.
They worked SO hard, and It was great to spend some quality time with them. They were in awe of the property!
It is awesome to see your kids get excited about your adventures with you!! :)
It felt good to be in this moment, in this day, in this place. We love this land, and feel blessed to have it to create our simple and modest way of life. We have so much that we want to do...ALL AT ONCE!!
We got a fire-ring set up today, as well. Come on out and sit a spell. ;)
