The Final Push..and the REVEAL!

The final push is over, and the house has been revealed!  We are so excited to share with you pictures of our tiny...but first!  Here are some photos of the couple of days leading up to the reveal...

My friend Toni came out the Saturday before the reveal and worked her tail off planting some perennials around the tiny.  She brought plants from around her home to share with us.  Look at the rock border.  Toni brought a little rock truck with her to haul those rocks from right there on the property!

My daughter, Meagan, and her husband, Lewis, came out the next day and put up the lattice for our underpinning.  They are both such dirt lovers...lol...they made quick work of getting that all done!

Our friend, John Provins (on the right) was on hand the Sunday before the reveal as well.  He and our friend Donnie built a front porch for the tiny!

I'm still amazed at the talent and hard work our friends have gifted to us!

John's "Daisy" approving of John's work. :)
John also got us started with the stairs.  This was the most challenging element of the build.  We had too many ideas floating around in our heads.  Stairs are very mathematical!  John made it seem so easy!  (Remember...this was three days before the reveal!  I was stressin!!)

(Special thanks to E3 & Donnie, too!  They did a fantastic job in finishing up the stairs--wait til you see them!

Another friend who was on hand at the 11th hour to help finish everything up was our friend, Scott.  Scott is so knowledgeable..on so many things.  He helped us to get our plumbing finished up...along with setting drains and putting finishing touches on bathroom fixtures.

I don't know what we're doing right to have so many wonderful people in our life.  I. am. grateful.

Alright you guys. Are you ready for the big reveal?  Here is our tiny!

We hope you have enjoyed this journey with us!  To all of you who have helped us, supported us, and given of yourselves to us in this effort--THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!  We could NOT have done this without you.  We love our tiny down Short Holler!

Finishing Touches to the Tiny!

Whew! We are getting down to the wire, you guys.  Our reveal of the tiny house is planned for next week!  We have entered into the fun phase, which is to apply all of the finishing touches.  It really is starting to look like a home, and we grow more and more excited with each passing day.

When we last posted, we had a good handle on the exterior of the house, the insulation had been blown in, and we were beginning work on the interior walls.

Well...look at how far we have come!

Here is the tiny with all of her siding completed. Greg was still working hard at this point in getting the trim completed, and we had yet to tackle the roof edging.

In the mean time, my friend Patty had been helping me with panel board installation.  She has been such a tremendous help and coach to me.  She is a master...a perfectionist, and it has been so awesome to spend time with her on this project.

Here is the tiny with all of her roof edging done. This was a challenge for Greg, and I am so proud of him for his persistence and patience.  Special thanks to his friend, Walt, for helping him to sort through his questions and approach.

It looks so great!

My kids have been a great help to us on this project. Here are Michael, Meagan, and Maya loading up the remnants and leftovers from our metal framing.  This material will be used for future projects, for sure!

Please notice Maya's work attire...gotta love that girl. :)

...and here is Lewie..runnin the chainsaw to clear some debris.  This man likes to work..and he is GOOD...and QUICK!

Here's a shot I was able to grab real quick of Greg with his nephew, E3.  It's hard to get a picture of these two!  They don't stand still very long!

E3 has been a tremendous help to his Uncle Greg.  He is out there nearly every day, right along side of his Uncle for whatever he needs.  Love them...both of them!

Another great friend who has been right by Greg's side for this build is our friend, Donnie.  Donnie has been a wealth of knowledge and experience in helping us to find our way through many obstacles.

Here, Donnie is helping E3 build the base for our bathroom sink. It was quite a challenge and required some creativity!

Here's a great shot of that sweet man of mine...he built our bathroom door out of old barn wood!

I LOVE IT.  It is one of my favorite features in our home.  It is so gratifying to see my talented husband creating all of the things he has talked about wanting to do for years.  It makes my heart sing!

One more week, ya'll...and we'll be ready for the final reveal!  We hope you are enjoying reading about this journey.  We have to keep reminding ourselves to relax, and enjoy that journey.  We have been under a fairly tight schedule for reasons that we will be able to share with you soon! Stay tuned!

Peace & Love,
